Alberto Iñurrategi Iriarte (Aretxabaleta, 3rd November 1968) is one of the most respected mountaineers in the world. The Basque mountaineer has managed to crown the 14 eight thousands in the world, all of them "Alpine" style, i.e. without oxygen and few camps and without Sherpas. This is something only 8 people on the planet have achieved.

He reached 12 of the 14 eight thousands with his brother Félix, although the latter died in the descent of his 12th peak, the  Gasherbrum II, in 2000.

At the time both mountaineers marked one milestone after another, always crowning the summits together, demonstrating their strength and acclimatisation capacity of the like never seen before, opening new routes like K2 or following the most technical routes.
