Patxi Usobiaga (Eibar, 7th September 1980) is a noteworthy competition climber, and was world champion in 2006 and 2007, as well as European champion in 2008.

Usobiaga started climbing very young and just before he was 14 he took part in his first national competition and came second in his category. Thus he became a part of the national juvenile team and started taking part in international competitions. His level at this age was 7B+.

At 20 he decided to take up climbing full time.

Patxi Usobiaga has become world climbing champion, after winning the competition held in Xining, in China. The TERNUA climber managed to win the title he has been after for many years and which he has finally achieved.

Usobiaga wins the first round of the World Cup

Patxi Usobiaga has won the first round of the World Cup, held in Chamonix. The TERNUA climber had a truly magical week, as just before he had won the World Championship.
