Usobiaga wins the first round of the World Cup

Patxi Usobiaga has won the first round of the World Cup, held in Chamonix. The TERNUA climber had a truly magical week, as just before he had won the World Championship.

After climbing to the top in the qualifying rounds and the semifinal, Usobiaga was six moves better than the Japanese Amma Sachi and seven better than the third placed, David Lama.

So the climber from Eibar currently tops the ranking in the struggle for what would be his third title.
